Plastic surgery credit: how to pay less?

In today’s society, body aesthetics and the desire to look eternally young lead many people to take the plunge into cosmetic surgery. This type of surgery changes a person’s physical appearance to improve it. It can be used for different parts of the body, from the nose (rhinoplasty) to the chest to the ears or the buttocks. However, each of these operations has a relatively high cost and must be carefully considered. Once the decision has been made, it is possible to take out a personal loan to finance the cosmetic surgery operation. Here’s what you need to know about your financing.

What is the difference between cosmetic and plastic surgery?

Often the terms “plastic surgery” and “cosmetic surgery” are used interchangeably. However, there is a difference.

Plastic surgery: a health issue

Plastic surgery is medical, in that it is used to treat a pathology. Patients who have recourse to it do so out of necessity, in order to improve their health. Plastic surgery is also called reconstructive or reparative surgery. For example, burn victims have recourse to plastic surgery when their skin is permanently damaged.

Generally, plastic surgery procedures are reimbursed by Social Security and by your supplementary health insurance if applicable. It is therefore possible to finance the operation without having to reach into your pocket.

Cosmetic surgery: purely… aesthetic reasons

Cosmetic surgery is used when the patient wishes to improve the aesthetics of a part of his or her body that he or she does not like. The procedures are therefore done at the request of the person and not prescribed for a medical reason. Unlike plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery procedures are not reimbursed by Social Security. Similarly, your complementary health insurance will not cover anything. Financing cosmetic surgery is therefore more complicated.

What are the different cosmetic surgery operations?

A cosmetic surgery operation can concern different areas of the body. Depending on the area, the methods used are not the same.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty aims to reshape a nose according to the patient’s taste, in order to make it more harmonious with the rest of the face.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty corrects the shape and position of the ears.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty removes wrinkles and other marks that appear on the face with age.

Liposuction

Liposuction (or liposuction) aims to remove excess fat cells from under the skin.

Breast surgery

Breast surgery consists of the reduction or increase of breast volume. This type of operation is also indicated to correct an asymmetry between the two breasts.

Dental Care

In vitro fertilization

In vitro fertilization (IVF) consists of the union of the egg with the sperm and is performed in the laboratory (in vitro)

Facelift

A facelift limits the sagging of the skin around the throat and face.
